Since starting to use Avian Health (Turkey) in 2004 we have had less problems in our all year round turkey business, the more we use it the better the results are. When we first started on Avian Health we saw a great difference but each year we get even less problems and we don't have the same level of worry. We order Avian Health in advance of poult delivery then we have it on hand ready for when they come, some times poults can be stressed, dehydrated or just under the weather, Avian Health seems to pick them up quickly.

When birds are two weeks old we send feathers to Crossgates for testing to make the Avian Health Flock Specific. Continual testing builds up our overall bird health creating a stronger immune system. The other thing we have noticed is how much less bedding we use because the dung is drier than it used to be. This results in less muck to cart out after each flock. We are very pleased with the good finish and bloom on the birds after plucking. Crossgates offer a very good prompt service and we enjoy dealing with them."

As one of the largest game bird producers in the UK we are constantly seeking innovative ways to help with the management of our birds.

We exclusively produce a cross breed using Japanese Green Pheasants and have the only commercially pure flock in the country. Maintaining the health of this pure breed is vital to our business.

Almost two years ago we began working with Crossgates, our objective being to improve the breeding condition of the Japanese Green parent flock. The following breeding season saw not only a large improvement in the general health status of the birds but also in fertility.

Since then we have continued working with Crossgates with the inclusion of other pheasant breeds and red-legged partridge, all with very satisfactory results.
